Three more "gold stars"
Published Thursday 22 October 2026
Three inspiring staff members have become the latest to be acknowledged in the Employee recognition scheme.
Nicola Egan, Charlene Fairbrother and Victoria Robb joined the Corporate Management Team on Wednesday to receive certificates and gold lanyards from Chief Executive Paul Manning to recognise their success.
Nicola, a Home Carer in Social Work Resources, saved the life of a service user with dementia by evacuating her from her home during a kitchen fire which caused a fridge freezer to explode.
Winning in the Crisis Response category, Nicola, second left in the image above, has already had her bravery acknowledged in other places including by the First Minister.
Charlene, left, is a Family Support Worker in Social Work Resources, and she was recognised in the Going The Extra Mile category after she took a service user into her own home when her foster care arrangement broke down and no alternative care option was available.
Victoria, right beside Paul, is a Divisional Valuation Surveyor in the LVJB. She recently became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors having carried out her own programme of studying after missing out on essential training due to Covid, and was recognised in the Rising Star category.
