Bin request types
This page is for housing officers who need to request a bin, arrange for a bin to be emptied or removed, report a damaged bin, or submit another bin enquiry.
Use the correct form for the type of request. This helps the request reach the right team and avoids delays.

Order a bin
Bin stock update: We are currently waiting for new stock of 240 litre and 360 litre non-recyclable waste bins (general household waste). Delivery times are currently estimated around 8 weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
- multiple requests can be submitted for the same address
- requests for 360 litre black or green bins require an assessment. Waste Services will monitor the bin for at least 8 weeks to check whether the tenant is using all recycling bins fully before the request is approved or rejected. The tenant and housing officer will be told the outcome at the end of the assessment
- Before ordering a new bin or asking for a bin to be emptied, check that the issue is not contamination. If the recycling bin has a contamination tag, advise the tenant to remove the contamination and present the bin on the next scheduled collection day
Empty or remove a bin
- multiple requests can be submitted for the same address.
- if the bin needs to be emptied before removal, fill in the empty a bin form first
Report a damaged bin
- if more than one bin is damaged at the same address, submit a separate request for each bin. Include details of where each damaged bin is located
