Trade Union

Consultation with the Trade Unions is a key element in our Communications Strategy. On a daily basis, there will be contact and an exchange of information between management and Trade Union representatives. However, there are also formal systems for consultation.  

Joint Consultative Forum - a council wide forum involving Elected Members, Personnel Services and representatives of all recognised Trade Unions.

Joint Consultative Committees - at service Resource level there are JCC's involving management, Personnel Services and Trade Union representatives, meeting on a quarterly basis.

To continue with this process, we encourage all employees to join an appropriate Trade Union.  Should you wish to join, please contact them direct. Details of the recognised Trade Unions are given in the pages on the right hand side.
