Employee Network
The council Employee Network give you a chance to share your experiences, raise issues and help shape how the council supports its workforce.
Network themes
There are four themes:
-
Ethnicity Matters
-
Disability Matters
-
LGBT+ Matters
-
Caring Matters
Each theme focuses on different experiences and helps us improve our policies, services and workplace culture.
Meetings and participation
Networks meet every quarter and use a hybrid approach with the in person option being held in Hamilton HQ, with at least one meeting each year in other locations such as East Kilbride, Cambuslang, Rutherglen or Lanark and MS Teams used to support those who wish to attends virtually.
You do not need to attend every meeting. Even occasional attendance gives you the chance to:
-
hear about issues affecting colleagues
-
share your own experiences
-
help influence how the Council works
The Network is a safe, supportive space where you can speak openly. The Council supports you receiving paid time off to attend.
Getting involved
If you are interested in joining the network, speak to your line manager. Managers are encouraged to support attendance where service needs allow.
If several people in your team are interested, you may choose one representative to attend, share feedback with colleagues, and raise any issues on their behalf.
