Learning at Work Week 2022: Friday
Published Friday 20 May 2022
Part of lifelong and continual learning is about being aware of how new and ongoing changes to policy and ways of working may have an impact on how we work.
This year’s virtual Learning at Work Week is all about Learning Uncovered, so today we uncover two a very topical examples of this: Trauma Informed and Corporate Parenting.
Trauma Informed
Anyone can experience trauma at some point in their lives, these experiences can have lasting effects which makes life very difficult. South Lanarkshire is on a journey to become trauma informed and responsive in all aspects of its work, this means creating a culture where people are not blamed or punished because of the trauma they have experienced; but are treated with empathy and kindness and are empowered to access the services they need to support their recovery.
Corporate Parenting
As a Corporate Parent, South Lanarkshire Council work to uphold the rights and safeguard the wellbeing of ‘looked after’ children and young people and care leavers aged under 26 across Scotland. As an employee of South Lanarkshire Council, you are a Corporate Parent and have an incredible opportunity to make a huge difference to the lives of Care Experienced people.
