Scotrail introduce a reduced timetable
Published Friday 20 March 2020
Scotrail are making changes to their timetable, starting on Monday.
Due to coronavirus they will introduce a reduced timetable - full details are on the Scotrail website.
The timetable means significant changes from the normal daily timetable, with a specific focus to deliver an effective public transport service for key workers - such as NHS staff - across the country.
With the number of trains in service reduced, this creates opportunities for additional cleaning activities on trains, and in depots, and allows more targeted cleaning at stations.
The service level will deliver more than enough seats to meet the current demand levels and the timetable will be kept under regular review to react to any further developments.
The railway has an important role to play during this crisis and Scotrail and Network Rail will continue to work closely with government and other key stakeholders to do all they can as the situation develops.
