Pay scales

Our salary structure operates on the basis of grades and levels for each job.  Each level within a Grade contains a number of spinal column points (SCP's).  Where you are placed within a grade depends on your personal competence which is assessed using the Performance Appraisal process. Below is an example of one of our grades: 

In certain cases, where jobs have tasks that are more complex and it takes you several years to become fully competent in the evaluated tasks, the grade will have incremental progression reflecting your developing competence. The increment will be applied on 1st April each year.  Details of this will be incorporated into your offer of appointment.
