Office 2013
Preparations for the migration to Objective has been rescheduled to Monday 29 October 2018.
All employees will be transitioning to Office 2013 which doesn't support Meridio and so you will move to Office 2013 and Objective at the same time. Quick start guides will be available to help with the transition.
Development
The project is in its detailed design stage, with all high level definition documents now signed off. Certain elements of testing of the Objective software have also begun and this will be developed in the coming months. There is, for instance, a Drawing Management module for Objective, which has full desktop integration with AutoCAD to allow drawings to be saved and maintained from within the fileplan - this is not possible with Meridio. Services that use this software will be involved in the testing and the development of user guidance.
The corporate file plan
All Resources have been working to develop a corporate file plan, which Community and Enterprise areas will have to comply with for implementation in Objective and this has already seen the restructuring of the higher levels of the file plan. The most significant revisions to the file plan structures have been in the Planning and Building Standards and Roads and Transportation fileplan areas. The corporate file plan gives us the opportunity to adopt consistent working practices across all Resources. New arrangements will be put in place for councillor’s correspondence and complaints.
Migration from Meridio to Objective
Work continues to prepare the fileplan for two trial migrations from Meridio to Objective, before a final production migration. Preparation activities have included reductions in the volume of empty folders, a review of the depth of the file plan and liaison with Services over access control.
The next stages are the development of disposal schedules (to allow retention periods to be applied) and the finalisation of access controls to be applied.
