Civic recognition

The council hosts a range of civic events throughout the year.

Administration and Legal Services co-ordinates the organisation of those events which include events marking outstanding achievements by local people or organisations, events welcoming visitors to the area for major conferences, sporting events or twinning visits, events acknowledging the efforts of the voluntary sector, events celebrating landmark anniversaries in the history of local clubs, organisations and citizens and events marking annual national events such as Remembrance Day.
