Notification of placement

Following notification from your adoption agency that you have been matched with a child, you should apply for adoption leave by making your request via Oracle Fusion. You should give as much notice as possible, ideally within 7 days.

As part of this process, you will be asked to upload a copy of the matching certificate and provide the key details relating to your period of leave. You will also be asked to provide your return date; however, this can be amended in the future if needed.

If you need to vary the start date of your leave, you can do this by providing 28 days' notice (or as much notice as is reasonably practicable).

You do not need to notify us of your intention to return to work unless this is different from the date provided when you made your request.

If you wish to change your return date, you need to discuss this with your manager and provide at least 8 weeks' notice, so that arrangements can be made regarding your return to work and pay. When the new date is agreed you should update your adoption leave on Oracle Fusion.

Please be aware that if you do not give at least 8 weeks' notice to allow administrative arrangements to be made, your return to work may be postponed for the full period of notice required.
