Coaching
Coaching
Coaching is a confidential and supportive development option for employees. It gives you time and space to think about a work-related goal, challenge or change. A coach will not tell you what to do. They will ask questions, listen and help you identify your own way forward.
Who this is for
Coaching is for employees who want to reflect on their development, build confidence, manage change or work towards a clear goal. It may be helpful if you are new to a role, preparing for future responsibilities, or looking for support to improve how you work.
When coaching can help
- you want to build confidence in your role
- you are taking on new responsibilities or moving into a new role
- you want to improve how you lead, communicate or make decisions
- you need space to think through a work issue or development goal
When coaching is not suitable
- you are currently involved in a formal employee relations or performance process
- you need specialist support, such as health, wellbeing, legal or safeguarding advice
- you need technical training or instruction on how to do a task
- you do not feel ready or willing to take part
