Termination

Oracle Fusion Resignation process

When an employee notifies you of their intention to resign, you should discuss their reason for leaving, and agree a termination date in line with the employee’s notice requirements.

You should then advise the employee to log into Oracle Fusion and access ‘Resign from Employment’ under the Employment section (on the left side of the screen). The employee can formally submit their resignation and complete the confidential exit survey. This should be done without delay.

As the line manager you will receive a notification advising you to approve the employee’s resignation.

Before approving this, you must ensure that the employee’s annual leave balance on Oracle Fusion is correct. All their accrued leave must be used prior to their leaving date and should be recorded on the system. This will ensure that their final pay is correct.

Payment for any untaken annual leave will only be made in exceptional circumstances; if the employee has taken more annual leave than they are entitled to, this will be deducted from their last pay.

You will also receive an email notification to confirm that the resignation has been processed and the employee’s “Resignation Journey” on Oracle Fusion should be completed. This is a checklist of the tasks to be completed before their last day of employment including:

  • completing the confidential exit interview questionnaire
  • using all remaining accrued annual leave entitlement
  • returning any council equipment and identification
