Your payslip explained
You will be paid every 4 weeks by BACS transfer (Bank Automated Clearing System) directly into your bank account.
You can view your payslip by logging into Oracle Fusion. Payslips are generally available on the Tuesday before the Friday pay date.
Regardless of the number of jobs you will only receive one Oracle Fusion payslip which will show pay information for all of your assignments on the same document.
If you have any queries regarding your pay, you should speak to your line manager in the first instance or contact Personnel Services by raising a service request via the HR Helpdesk.
Please note that if you have received more pay than expected, it is your responsibility to highlight this as soon as you become aware so that the overpayment is recovered from your next pay. In some instances, a repayment plan will be agreed.
The information below explains some of the features of your payslip.
| Feature | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Tax Code |
Your tax code is used by us to work out how much Income Tax to take from your salary. The code is worked out by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), who sends it to the council. Your tax code will be made up of:
|
| Payments | This details any payments included in your salary. This could include travel expenses or overtime that you have worked. If you buy enhanced leave, the amount will be included here. |
| Deductions | All deductions to your salary will be detailed here. This will include PAYE, NI, Pension, trade union deductions, and so on |
| Bank account | Only the last three digits of your bank account are listed. This allows you to see which account your salary is being paid into. |
| Payment amount | This is the sum of all payments minus any deductions. This is your net pay. |
| Tax Office information | We provide this information should you need to contact HMRC about any tax related issues that you may have in connection to your employment with us. |
| Messages | Any messages from us will be displayed here, such as, changes to pay dates or information about us. |
