Supply to Demand

This focus group is tasked with establishing how resources from Supply will be allocated to Demand, and on how we will measure support effort

 

The meeting began with a discussion on resource contention.

It was agreed that Project Managers from Demand should not book a resource for a whole month. Instead, the resource should be booked for, for example, for 25 days over a 60 day period.

 

An issue may arise where two Project Managers from Demand wish to book the same resource.

We have no procedure for dealing with this at the moment.

Such conflicts should be referred to the IT Senior Management Team in the interim

 

It would be helpful if brief Service Plans and High-level Project Plans could be presented as early as possible

 

We will also need to manage Customer expectations when resource contention arises.

Inability to manage expectations may constrain project delivery

 

Support is our top priority, followed by projects.
