Letter of Undertaking Agreement For Learning or Development Activity

The Letter of Undertaking (LoU), in respect of learning and development, is an agreement between an employee and South Lanarkshire Council that mitigates against potential financial loss to the council, where an employee has received financial assistance to complete a course of study that subsequently ceases to be of benefit to the organisation. This may happen if an employee fails to complete the requisite course of study, fails to make sufficient progress, or ends their employment with the council before the beneficial effect of the transfer of learning has occurred....
